Live performance is how we tell our stories, and the stories we wish existed, together. It is how we transform ourselves individually for a moment in time, that gives us a common narrative that moves us collectively. It is a risky undertaking, from not only translating the story itself and portraying it, but to incorporating the energy of a live audience. While at the professional level theatre is powerful, at the community level it is vital. Growing up in a community theatre taught me that putting on a production is as much about the experience on stage and off stage as it is about the final product. I love everything about theatre--the stories, the risk, the energy, the creativity, the technique, the connection, and the community. My goal is to work within the community to offer opportunities in all facets of theatre for everyone who wants to be involved, regardless of past experience and future endeavors, and help people connect with those they might not otherwise know. Theatre changes lives and societies because of the connection it fosters and the stories we are telling together.
