Camille has been creating theatre since she could walk. Her parents would turn on the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack and she would improvise to the overture. She watched Godspell so much that she could spell it by the time she was two years old. She would attempt to get her friends to put on skits with her during their play-dates (Unfortunately, they were more interested in playing with her toys). Camille began dancing at age two and performed in her first musical when she was five. She didn’t realize when she was cast that she would have to say lines and she cried so hard about it that they gave her lines to another kid. A lot has changed since then and she has been fortunate enough to be involved in over 70 productions in 20 years as a performer, costume designer, choreographer, director, stage manager, set designer, lighting designer, producer, and dance captain.
Camille felt her calling to become director her junior spring, after two years of a Musical Theatre focus and a third of general theatre.
Camille’s other passion is volunteer work, especially for her home theatre, Theatre Bristol. She is the mentor of Theatre Bristol’s Youth Service Board (YSB), as well as the resident costume designer and choreographer. As a former YSB member, she has had many opportunities to teach, especially at TB’s summer camp, The Start of Adventure, as a counselor, choreographer, and acting teacher.
She currently serves as the coordinator for the Cathy F. DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts.
Camille is a graduate of Emory & Henry College. She has a BFA in Theatre-Directing with Honors. To see her resume, click here.
