WE HAVE A NEW LOCATION!
Whether you’re new to Camera Tech or just need a quick refresher, here are answers to the questions we get asked most — straight from the bench.
Do you really do all repairs on-site?
Yes — 100%.
Every repair is done by Mike, right here in the shop. Your camera never leaves the building, and we don’t outsource to third-party services.
Can I get an estimate over the phone?
Sorry, no phone estimates.
Cameras are complex machines with hundreds of interconnected parts. One symptom can have several possible causes, and there’s no way to diagnose it properly without seeing the camera in person.
We offer FREE in-person estimates so we can give you a clear, honest, and accurate quote. To learn more, click here.
How long does a repair usually take?
It depends on three things:
The complexity of the issue
Whether parts are needed and available
Mike’s current workload
Some repairs are completed within days, while others may take longer, especially for vintage models that require rare parts. We’ll always give you a realistic timeframe during your estimate.
How much does camera or lens repair cost?
Prices vary depending on the issue and the model.
That’s why estimates are done in person. Mike will walk you through exactly what’s wrong and what it will take to fix it — before any work begins.
What kinds of cameras do you repair?
We service a wide range of film and digital cameras, including:
DSLR and mirrorless systems
35mm and medium format film cameras
Point-and-shoots
Rangefinders
TLRs and more
If it can be saved, we’ll give it our full attention. To view a complete list of brands we service, click here.
Do you repair lenses too?
Absolutely!
We repair both manual and autofocus lenses — stuck zooms, damaged focus rings, jammed aperture blades, internal fungus, and more.
My camera’s really old. Is it even fixable?
Bring it in and let Mike take a look!
Many older cameras can be repaired, especially with a CLA (Clean, Lube, and Adjust). If parts are available, we’ll make it work. If not, we’ll be honest about your options.

Do I need to bring anything else with my camera?
Yes — please bring anything related to the issue.
If the problem only happens with a certain lens, battery, or memory card, bring those too.
The more complete your setup, the easier it is for Mike to diagnose the problem.
