Effective Date: March 12, 2026
NOVAAPPS LTD ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Camera Detector mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App. By downloading, installing, or using Camera Detector, you consent to the practices described herein. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to deliver, maintain, and improve the App. The categories of information we handle include:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
• Email Address — when you use the Email Breach Check feature, your email address is transmitted to our secure cloud service to check it against known breach databases. A history of checked emails and results is stored locally on your device only.
• Chat Messages — when you interact with the AI Chat Assistant, your messages are sent to our cloud service to generate responses. We do not persistently store your chat conversations on our servers.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
• Device Information — device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (IDFV), screen resolution, and language settings.
• Advertising Identifier — with your explicit consent through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we may collect your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for analytics and marketing attribution.
• Usage Data — information about how you interact with the App, including features accessed, session duration, in-app events, and error logs.
• Network Data — when using the WiFi Scanner or Speed Test, the App processes local network information such as IP addresses, MAC addresses, device hostnames, and WiFi network names (SSID). This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Bluetooth Data — when using the Bluetooth Scanner, the App detects nearby Bluetooth device names and identifiers. This data is processed locally and is not sent to our servers.
• Crash and Performance Data — diagnostic information including crash logs and performance metrics to help us resolve technical issues.
1.3 Sensor Data
• Camera Feed — processed in real-time on your device for infrared detection purposes. Camera data is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
• Magnetometer Readings — magnetic field data from your device sensors is processed locally in real-time and is neither stored nor transmitted.
2. Device Permissions
Camera Detector requires certain device permissions to function. Each permission is requested only when the relevant feature is used, and you can manage them at any time through your device settings:
• Camera — required for the Infrared Camera Detection feature to access the rear camera and analyze the visual feed for infrared light sources.
• Bluetooth — required for the Bluetooth Scanner to discover and identify nearby Bluetooth-enabled devices.
• Local Network — required for the WiFi Scanner to discover devices connected to your local network.
• Location (When In Use) — required by iOS to retrieve WiFi network information for the Speed Test and WiFi Scanner features. We do not track or store your geographic location.
• App Tracking Transparency — requested to collect your advertising identifier for analytics and marketing attribution. Declining this permission does not affect core App functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
• Service Delivery — to provide, operate, and maintain the features and functionality of the App.
• Improvement and Development — to understand how users interact with the App, identify areas for enhancement, and develop new features.
• Subscription Management — to process and manage your subscription status and provide access to premium features.
• Analytics — to monitor App performance, analyze usage trends, and generate aggregate statistics.
• Marketing Attribution — with your consent, to understand how users discover the App and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
• Customer Support — to respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.
• Legal Compliance — to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal requests.
4. Third-Party Services
We may integrate third-party SDKs and APIs to facilitate functions like analytics, crash reporting, subscription management, and marketing attribution. These third parties may process some of your data as part of their services, subject to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them independently.
The App uses HaveIBeenPwned.com (Superlative Enterprises Pty Ltd) for email breach detection.
5. Subscriptions and Purchases
Camera Detector offers premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions and one-time purchases managed via Apple's App Store.
All payments are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment details such as credit card information. Your purchase history and subscription status are managed through Apple's infrastructure and shared with us solely to grant access to premium features. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly.
6. Data Storage and Retention
• Local Data — email breach check history, scan results, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. This data remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data manually.
• Server-Side Processing — we do not maintain persistent user accounts or store personal data on our servers beyond what is necessary for real-time processing of email breach checks and chat responses.
• Analytics Data — usage analytics collected through third-party services are retained in accordance with each provider's own data retention policies.
• Crash Reports — diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days to allow sufficient time for issue resolution.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
• Third-Party Service Providers — as described in Section 5, with providers who assist us in operating and improving the App, subject to their respective privacy policies.
• Legal Requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
