It all started when some Florida Federation Garden Club members wanted to form their own local garden club. They had two organizational meetings that led to the first regular meeting of the Camellia Circle held on June 8, 1948, at the home of Mrs. David Walker, with 19 members in attendance. Less than a year later on April 22, 1949, the Camellia Founders & Magnolia circles were federated.
Not long after, the Camellia Garden Club was “officially” born.
