A barrier which, ironically, should provide protection to neighbouring amenity from the noise of the market, just like the building c planning conditions where meant to do. Camden should not allow Enhanced Hospitality (aka Camden Dining) to systematically sabotage the environmental protection of neighbouring residential areas
Fest is yet another noise and booze business by Enhanced Hospitality (aka Camden Dining), who are also responsible for Shaka Zulu and Gabeto in Camden Market. They also owned and ran Gilgamesh until they lost their tenancy in February 2018 and now in 2019 Camden Market have given Enhanced Hospitality (aka Camden Dining) the Dingwell's licensed premises, that include Lock 17 and the Canalside Bar
As a Camden Market tenant, when Gilgamesh was in the 1st Floor Building C, Stables Market, it operated in breach of granted planning permission for Building C. The use of this building was conditional that no persons, whether the public or workers, should be in the building between midnight and 8am the next morning. To prevent the building's use as a casino or night club. Yet Gilgamesh ran regular clubs in the aptly named "Babylon" room, which is by the residential amenity of Gilbeys Yard Estate. Doing exactly what the condition was meant to protect against. Despite these planning conditions being for the whole of Building C the basement and subbasement has been used since 2010, again by Enhanced Hospitality (aka Camden Dining) as the Shaka Zulu night club which still operates past midnight with the abuse of their own fire exit onto Gilbeys Yard at all hours. The Shaka Zulu license should be adjusted to be compliant with that building's planning conditions.
With this carefully documented history of disregard for the welfare of neighbouring residential amenity, it is of great concern that Enhanced Hospitality (aka Camden Dining) now have tenancy of the listed "Horse House" building in the Stables Market. They are using the top of the market wall as a bar, live venue and outdoor cinema. This is encroachment on neighbours just like they did in Building C and must be stopped before Camden Council Planning let them do it for over 10 years, then reward their abuse by making it legal for them to do so. Just as they did for Building C. It seems that our council planning authority will reward abuse that has been happening for 10 years or more, therefore we cannot rely on council planning to protect the residents of Camden. Council officers are not democratically voted into their positions, therefore they are not accountable to residents to maintain their positions, and it seems that this is evident by the protection bias given to business. Those business rates go to central government, not to Camden to be able to protect this community from the environmental they cause.
