Nike Portland Invitational
Get ready for the upcoming track & cross-country season alongside the CHS runners! Practices include trail running, stretching, drills, fun games, and core stability training. Don’t start the fall season unprepared—join us for a summer of fitness, friends, and fun.
Suggested for students entering grades 5–8 next school year but the coaches are flexible about athlete ages.
No athletic prerequisites—just bring your energy!
Dates: Mondays & Thursdays, June 30 – July 31
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Lacamas Lake Heritage Trail (boat ramp side)
Parking can be tight in summer—please carpool if possible and be patient at drop-off.
Fee: $200 per athlete, paid through Camas Community Ed
Capacity: Up to 100 spots (expecting ≈ 50 this year)
Deadline: Open until camp begins (note: T-shirts are not guaranteed after June 9th)
Water bottle
Comfortable, loose-fitting running clothes (hot-weather ready)
Running shoes
Yoga mat or towel (for post-run stretches)
Week 1 : Initial assessment, easy trail run & games → July 3rd is Most Patriotic Day & Award!
Week 2 : Hills & tempo runs on trails & games → July 10th is Best Tie-Dye Shirts Award!
Week 3 : Quarter-mile repeats and long distance running on trails. → July 17th is Crazy Socks Day & Award!
Week 4 : Hill work & an uptempo workout on trails & games → July 24th is Crazy Hair Day & Award!
Week 5 : Final assessment & games → July 31st is our Donut Dash!
Practices run rain or shine; all sessions are optional
