Cal was a giver. After several people asked where they could make a donation in his honor, Cal's daughter, Rachael, and her mother, Teri, decided to establish the Calvin Innerarity Memorial Fund at the Cambridge Community Foundation with the help of a generous donation from family friends.
A renaissance man of sorts, Cal never stopped learning, moving from the university to the mechanic's bay, from the DJ's booth to the pilot's cockpit to the theatre carpentry shop. Dedicated to his family and with a love for community, he was a consummate storyteller with an infectious wit, and he touched many in the Cambridge community and beyond.
Rachael and Teri will be carefully choosing nonprofits that reflect the values and experiences that guided Cal's life. One aim is for the fund to honor his passion for learning by expanding educational opportunities for marginalized people. True to Cal's spirit, we also hope to keep the fund adaptable: so far, it has contributed to Cambridge Community Foundation’s recent Arts and Belonging initiative (a nod to Cal’s work with top area theaters) as well as supporting the more-urgent needs of the community.
