My research centres on balance and stability in older adults — specifically the biomechanics of how the body recovers (or fails to recover) when a fall is triggered, and what that means for people living with knee osteoarthritis. It's the same question in every paper, asked from different angles: what actually happens, biomechanically, in the half-second between losing balance and hitting the ground — and what can we change about it?
