It seems that Winter wants to stay around longer and longer and longer and...

Sure have had lots of opportunity to work on my modeling, but now that the sun has been out for three consecutive days, those opportunities may lessen.

Since January there have been a multitude of train shows, division meetings and other model train activities to do.

My wife, Sue, and I are planning a weekend in May to visit our granddaughter in Gillette, Wy.  We're going to do a bit of fishing but mostly learning how to use our new Cricket Maker.  Going to learn how to program it so I can use it to build structures.  Could be the next best thing to a laser.  If nothing else, fun with my granddaughter!

A note or two on the NMRA:

At Risk Policy - National has made it possible for those divisions that had youth programs prior to the infamous 2019 change in policy,  to renew those programs with relatively easy guidelines (the NMRA web page has the policy).

NMRA 2023 National Convention in Texas - A lot of Convention!  It's in Texas so expect everything to be BIG!  Scheduled are great clinics, exciting layout tours, and so much more!!

The Rocky Mountain Region Convention in Albuquerque in November - Please try and attend as there will be some really outstanding clinics, the contest room had outstanding models last year, expecting more this year.

And then there is the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Denver.  There will be plenty to do this year along with local train shows,  division activities - just so much to do.

Whatever ever you do and wherever you may go with family and friends, enjoy time together and do it safely.  As far as my family goes, we are heading to Atlanta to see the General locomotive from Civil War fame.  Then, plans are to ride the Cass shays in West Virginia and the Straussburg train in Pennsylvania.  We'll visit a friend of two along the way, maybe even visit the Harrisburg O gauge narrow gauge (black sheep) meet.

'Til next time,

Lowell
