Richard Hunter

1933-2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of the Region's most notable members, Richard 'Dick' Hunter. The following anonymous remembrance from his obituary demonstrates just how special he was to the Region, model railroading, and his friends and family.

"Dick was a great friend and mentor to us in the model railroading community. He was instrumental with his contributions to the Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), since its inception. Dick supported the RMR at every level. In 1977 and 1991, Dick played key roles in arguably some of the best National Conventions in the history of the NMRA. Dick helped found at least two Divisions of the RMR, here in the Denver area. Dick was a modeler and a teacher, and always willing to do what he could for his fellow modelers. We are grateful for Dick being part of our lives and continue with part of his legacy in our own efforts, from his modeling, his teachings and his friendship. The RMR community will miss Dick deeply, an enormous loss for us. RIP."
