The purpose of this specialty unit is to crack down on high-speed pursuits and to help out during operations. This unit is activated when requested to a TEU Operation, or when a high-speed pursuit is occurring in Los Angeles.

| Air Support Unit (ASU) |
The Traffic Enforcement Unit Air Support Unit is the main agency tasked with providing the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department with Air Support during large-scale incidents, pursuits, search and rescues, or any other incidents requiring air support. This division will also maintain close relations with other departments.
