Biography

Dr. Richards founded Caliber Psychiatry after completing psychiatry training at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He aimed to provide quality, evidence-based, personalised mental health care to children, adolescents and young adults in Hershey, Palmyra and the surrounding area. Dr. Richards' expertise covers ADHD, impulsive behavior, oppositional defiant disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD, severe mood swings), major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, autism, OCD and many other conditions.

Dr. Richards applies a holistic approach to therapy, combining individualized treatment, medical management, and the patient's spirituality and values. When not working, he enjoys reading, soccer, biking, and family time.

After earning his degree from Cornell University in 2011, Dr. Richards interned at the Texas Epilepsy Foundation in Houston. He provided clinical care to children and adults with behavioral and developmental disabilities. Dr. Richards then graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School in 2016 and completed his adult and child psychiatry training at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. His experience includes inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as serving as Chief Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow. Additionally, Dr. Richards has conducted research, lectured at local schools and Penn State Dickinson Law School, and trained junior residents in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
