The Calgary Properties Lions Club was chartered on December 2, 1982 under the sponsorship of the Calgary Chinook Lions Club. The Properties Club is sometimes called “the little club than can” as we have a small but service-focused membership. Both men and women are welcome as members.
As of 2021/2022 our members range in age from their early forties to their seventies and beyond, and include technicians, accountants, sales people and managers as well as several very busy retirees! All are committed to the Lions motto of We Serve. The Club invites interested community members to contact any club member for information regarding club membership.
Over its history the Club has met in the facilities of and provided service and financial support to several of the Properties Community Associations, including our present location in the Lions Den in the Pine Cellar Meeting Room at the Pineridge Community Hall, 6024 Rundlehorn Drive NE (entry at the North West corner of the building).
The Properties Club provides service to its community in many ways. Service work includes specific club and club member involvement in club, local, national and international Lions projects. Fundraising to provide financial support for worthy programs and individuals in need is also a major club activity. Club members provide volunteer support for a wide range of functions and organization, including: Calgary Special Olympics, Globalfest, Lions eyeglass recycling, Lions Confederation Park project, Lions District C 2 ALERT program, Lions District C 2 cabinet, Lions District C 2 Lions Youth Camp, North East Calgary Adopt A Family Society, Scouts Canada (at the group and Council level). Club members may also assist with other Lions Club’s projects and fundraising.
