I’ve been involved with Empty Bowls in support of the Airdrie Food Bank for three years, contributing to the event through music programming, artist coordination, sound, and event setup.

My role includes curating and booking the musical lineup, working with performers to build a program that fits the event, and handling the live sound and technical setup on the day. I also help with the practical behind-the-scenes work that goes into getting the stage, audio system, performers, and room ready before the doors open.

It’s a role that brings together a lot of the things I enjoy most about live music: finding the right artists, building a good lineup, working alongside other volunteers and organizers, and being the person who is there early to make sure everything works when the audience arrives.

Now entering my third year with Empty Bowls, I’m proud to contribute my time and skills to an event that brings the local arts and music community together in support of the Airdrie Food Bank.
