Tales, Scripts, and Accounts is a large collection of short stories I have written over a few years that expands upon the popular franchise,
Avatar: the Last Airbender.
The stories are relatively short and don't have to be read in any specific order, but all are at least partially linked with one another.
While none of what I've written is canon, it follows all the writing patterns that official content does. I spent a solid year researching the universe before starting my first draft.
The time period I focus on is roughly a century before Avatar Yangchen, just prior to Avatar Szeto to avoid timeline conflicts.
Locations and people I created are volatile, as they're easy to excuse when referencing history in future content.
While reading, you as the reader are encouraged to believe what you wish, for your world is simply as you imagine it.
A short prelude containing my personal favorite stories, which each expand upon the desert lore. Treasure hunters and researchers sail the sands hoping to find whatever satiates their curiosity or greed. It also introduces important characters for the following sections.
Three young thieves jump onto a merchant ship to flee Omashu after a heist goes wrong. Their journey leads them to witness to a horrific genocide- lead by none other than Avatar Xue Jin himself.
After witnessing the Ganzao Tribe’s genocide- and barely escaping with their lives- the three survivors regroup and flee Drought Town with the help of Damani’s wild ingenuity. This section introduces a bending style called wind whispering, Neilu's Rat King, and another character who survived the Ganzao Genocide.
The lost urchins and new companions develop connections and gather intel necessary for assassinating the King of Omashu and Avatar Xue Jin.
After a small jump into the future, previously introduced characters are now older adults with reputations built around their past crimes while exposing the ominous figures that lurk in the city's shadows.
Shi Ban Dao is the product of Neilu's sins- or at least it becomes that over many years. For centuries, it was a mercantile state with a booming economy and the richest, most harmonious culture the Four Nations had ever seen. It was considered by many to be the ideal city. If only it were still around today…
Despite my work being done inside Google Docs, I recommend reading on Wattpad as the chapters are published so I can better gather feedback from readers and see which pieces are getting the most traffic.
Click on the cover for a valid link to the project's Wattpad page.
Most of my work is done inside Google Docs. The reference on the left (or above if on mobile) links to a version where I keep complete pieces and I update it every couple months when I have solid contributions to add or edits to be made. Eventually, those chapters may make their way onto this site if it makes interaction with readers easier.
Keep in mind that what's shown here is probably only a third of what I've been working on, as I'm quite picky with what I decide "ready to share quality" equates to being. Those remain as drafts in another document until ready for release.
If you read through any of this and enjoy it, please reach out and let me know. Your support keeps me writing.
