Marcel Roy Domalanta is an emerging researcher in coatings, corrosion, and polymeric materials with an interdisciplinary background in electrochemistry and materials engineering. As an early career scientist, his work focuses on sustainable materials and energy storage systems, including advanced fluoropolymer coatings for corrosion protection and battery technologies such as lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and lithium-sulfur systems. He explores sustainable materials innovation for clean energy and manufacturing, with expertise in polymer synthesis, electrochemical testing, and process optimization. His research includes battery electrode drying, PVDF crystallinity, and binder migration, as well as hydrogen fuel cell modeling and green hydrogen technologies. He has experience in materials characterization using SEM-EDX, AFM/KPFM, DSC, DMA, and XRD, and in multiphysics modeling and techno-economic analysis. He contributes to projects involving resource circularity, carbon neutral solutions, and sustainable manufacturing, applying statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) to optimize coating performance. He is passionate about bridging laboratory research with industrial application and is committed to collaborative, cross-functional work that supports scalable and real-world engineering solutions.
