Calcium signaling laboratory @ Washington DC VA Medical Center has a long-standing record in helping UG students and post-bacs to get into the Medical/Dental/Pharmacy and PhD program. Students get a chance to be involved in exciting multidisciplinary research opportunities to acquire skills and knowledge across the field in Biomedical Science including Cell Biology, Physiology and Biomedical Engineering. This interdisciplinary research training triggers the passion in science, give the students a competitive edge in both academia and industry, and help them become leaders in these new emerging research fields. We expect the students to undertake multi-faceted approaches to problem solving and develop critical skills applicable for future endeavors. Students are given opportunities to be trained in a wide-array of scientific fields, including: cell culture, cell imaging, signal transduction, physiology and biomolecular analysis. We also have success in postdoctoral training program for academia since many of our postdocs are joined as Faculty in US Universities and abroad. Our PhD students are in a path for successful training in multidisciplinary Biomedical Engineering program at CUA .
