Dr. Dan Jefferson Burgos Lopez, PhD, LPT, is an experienced educator, academic leader, and public administrator with a strong background in higher education, governance, research, and institutional development. He is the Founding Officer-In-Charge of the Office of the College President at Calaca City Global College, where he oversees the institution’s academic and administrative operations. In addition to this role, he serves as the Vice President of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities - Region IV-A. In 2024, he was appointed as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Commission on Accreditation for Local Colleges and Universities (ALCUCOA), where he contributed to strengthening accreditation processes for local higher education institutions. He is also an ALCUCOA Accreditor for Political Science and Public Administration programs, ensuring quality standards in higher education.
Before his current position, Dr. Lopez held various leadership and academic roles. He was the Founding Dean of the Institute of Public Policy and Governance at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun), where he also served as an Assistant Professor II. Under the Office of the University President at PLMun, he served as the Chief of the Presidential Management Staff, managing executive functions and institutional initiatives. Additionally, he was the Director of the Center for Linkages and International Affairs and the Director of the Center for Flexible Learning Management.
Dr. Lopez is also an active educator. He is currently a Lecturer at PLMun under the Institute of Public Policy and Governance, where he teaches Political Science. Previously, he worked at Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite as the Program Chair for Foreign Service, Legal Studies, and Social Sciences, as well as the College Secretary and Instructor II. He also served as a Lecturer for Graduate Studies at the Claro M. Recto Academy of Advanced Studies. Earlier in his career, he was a Clerk II in the Honorary Consuls and Service Attaches Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and a lecturer at PLMun and The Master’s Academy, where he also worked as a teacher and school chaplain.
A licensed professional teacher, Dr. Lopez is deeply involved in academic research. He has served as a research panelist and adviser in various institutions and has published research in his fields of expertise. His academic background includes a PhD in Development Administration major in Public Governance from Philippine Christian University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Northern Philippines, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Cum Laude) from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. He also completed a Graduate Certificate in ASEAN Studies at the University of the Philippines Open University and earned Professional Education units from Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology Cavite.
Beyond academia and governance, Dr. Lopez is an ordained Christian pastor, theologian, and missionary under the Send the Light Ministries, Inc. His passion for ministry extends to his work as a composer and writer, reflecting his commitment to faith, education, and the arts. He is also the owner of Potentia Learning and Development Center, a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), which provides professional training and capacity-building programs.
His expertise covers political science, public administration, professional education, ASEAN and development studies, theology, and social sciences. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the Philippine Society of Public Administration (PSPA), the Philippine International Studies Organization (PhISO), and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) – Division VIII. Throughout his career, Dr. Lopez has contributed to academic development, research, accreditation, and quality assurance efforts in Philippine higher education.
