I am currently a Quantum Communication Applied Scientist at HSBC. Previously, I worked in the group of Nelly Ng in Nanyang Technological University, and a research staff at the National Quantum-Safe Network, Singapore and in the Group of Applied Physics, University of Geneva, Switzerland, with A/Prof. Nicolas Brunner. I did my PhD and post-doc in the group of Prof. Valerio Scarani, Centre for Quantum Technologies, Singapore. My PhD thesis can be found here.
My main research interest is in quantum nonlocality, ranging from device independent certification of resources to foundational topics like characterizing the quantum set of correlations.
My surname is Cai (pronounced as /tsaɪ/) and my given name is Yu, I preferred to be called Cai Yu (蔡宇), but in my publications my name appears as Yu Cai following the western order convention.
