Dear Evan Hansen
Dear Audience,
August 19th was a good day and here's why. All I had to do was sit in an audience and be myself. That's the most important thing. When you see so many people doing something so incredible and that's arguably better. It brings you joy and happiness from start to end. It gives you the feeling that nothing else can bring you so many emotions in one go. I think that is the secret to a good show. Dear Evan Hansen is not a good show though because it didn't just take me on an emotional rollercoaster it also brought me through the show like I was there and a part of the amazing cast in front of me.
Sam Tutty portrayed the character of Evan Hansen so well and made me completely believe every word that was coming out of his mouth. I really believe that he was sorry for what had happened and each scene I believe really happened to not only Evan but Sam too. That's all I can describe it as and I have no more words for the rest of the cast.
Audience, I want to talk about the music, just for a second. Each song just pulls at your heart strings. It either makes you feel happy or makes you feel like you could cry your eyes out for hours. I don't think I have a favourite song, you know, each song brings the show further along. I can't really describe it any other way because my vocabulary simply isn't wide enough. It has left me speechless.
Finally audience, I want to say that Dear Evan Hansen covers very hard emotional topics which not every theatre fan might feel comfortable talking about or watch being performed on stage. The actors and actresses performed and presented each of the different issues in a way which I thought was believable, however, this may not be what everyone believes to be the case and might be too much emotionally for someone to experience. Audience, if you believe that you are able to handle it I think and reiterate the fact that all you have to do when you go to see any theatre show is be yourself. Strongly in my heart I believe that Dear Evan Hansen is the show that will actively allow you to be yourself, which is all you need to be able to count on.
Sincerely,
One of the best writers on the blog,
Caitlin
