Cinderella
On the 4th of June 2022 I took a trip to Belleville to see the incredible west end performance of Cinderella and what a phenomenal show it was. Cinderella was being performed at the Gillian Lynne Theatre until the 12th Of June 2022 where it unfortunately closed its doors and said goodbye letting go the outstanding cast.
When I walked into the theatre I was immediately welcomed by the amazing staff working in the theatre who scanned our tickets and pointed us in the right direction. Before the performance I went the the merchendise stand and brought a keyring and programme before heading to my seat ready for the show. I was sat in the stalls in row D which has a really good view but is slightly restricted at one part of the show.
Now , lets get onto the interesting part the actual show.
I have so much to say about this magnificent cast not only did they all bring their characters to life but they were also so lovely to when I met them at stage door. During the show the main character of Cinderella was played by the incredible Carrie Hope Fletcher who has amazing vocals and also incredible acting skills I mean what can't she do. Another character that constantly caught my eye was the step mother who was played by the incredible Alexandra Waite-Roberts on the night that I went. The reason she caught my eye was because of the incredible voice she kept going throughout the entire performance I really don't know how she does it.
As well as the incredible performers the wardrobe and costume team deserve some credit to as oh my the costumes were phenomenal. I loved all of the corsets that were worn as they helped bring the characters to life and if I was allowed to I would have loved to have taken one for myself. My favourite costume was definitely the queen as it had so much detail and an intricate design.
Finally ,the incredible music , I really loved all the songs in this my favourite would probably have to be bad cinderella as I just loved it. The music really helped tell the story throughout the whole show and was just brilliant.
Overall , I really enjoyed the show however I was disappointed that I had a restricted view at one point. I would love to take a trip back to Belville if it comes back on the west end but as it stands it closed its doors and said goodbye to the Gillian Lynne on the 12th of June.
