Student Travel Grants

As part of SIGDIAL endorsement, we have an opportunity to apply for a student travel grant - one student from the workshop, up to USD $600. The grant is intended to benefit an early-stage student who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend the event. It is available to a student who (1) will be making an oral presentation at CAIR'17 workshop; (2) who has never presented a peer-reviewed paper at a conference before (but they may have presented e.g. at a university-internal research workshop); and (3) who doesn’t already have existing funding to attend the event.

We ask for the items listed in section (5) "Additional documents" be provided, and that the recommendation letter confirms the 3 items in the previous paragraph. The SIGdial exec determines whether to award a grant, and if so, to select the recipient.

We ask that the student submit receipts after the event amounting to at least the amount of the grant in order to receive payment of the grant.
