Peel Regional Police’s Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) is a program funded by the Ministry of Children Community Social Services and Peel Police Service Board. It helps build positive relationships with youth in the Region of Peel and provides youth valuable experiences about policing through summer employment opportunities.
Peel Regional Police launched its first YIPI program in 2009 with ten students. The 2023 PRP YIPI program expanded with a new partnership with Sheridan College. Sheridan supports the program by providing on-campus space and in class lectures from various areas of the college, which gives youth insights to a post secondary education institution.
The holidays can bring joy, connection, and fun, but we understand they can also be a challenging time for many families. The Peel Family Engagement team recognizes the stressors that often come with this season, such as high expectations, disrupted routines, and financial pressures.
As caregivers supporting our children, youth and/or loved ones with mental health challenges, we know how these complexities can amplify the strain during the holidays. That’s why we’re sharing community resources that may be helpful for you, your family, or someone you know.
Wishing you resilience and peace,
