Hello, Welcome to Meet The CAF'rs! My name is Niharika Bora and I am a freelance recruitment strategist. I work with early stage organisations and help them to build a strong team. When I started off as a freelancer, after working in the corporate and nonprofit sector for 10 years, I had tons of questions in my mind and looked for a space where I could meet and interact with individuals who understood the nuances of freelancing, especially in the social space. That is how Consultants and Freelancers (CAF) was born. It started off as a meet up group in Bangalore in April 2017 and post 2 meetups started a Facebook Closed group in June 2017.

We are an online community and it does seem prohibitively difficult to optimally leverage our rich individual experiences even though we are connected, doesn't it? How many times have we ended up sprinting from pillar to post (in real and virtual terms), searching for the 'right' professional connection to get our ball rolling, only to realise that the go-to person was right in front of us the whole time? Happens to me all the time! Wouldn't it be awesome if we saved all that time and energy by referring to just ONE place for our needs?
Our community is one of a kind because most of us focus on sustainable and high impact solutions for social problems. I believe that there is great power in collaboration now that we have come together. In order to enable this, as announced in the Facebook Group, I am starting a new series - "Meet the CAF'r" - where every month we will get to know more about a particular member's journey and work.
