Merit badge counselors are an important part of Scouting. Your responsibility is to help Scouts learn the skills and principles in a specific subject matter covered by a merit badge. Not only are you helping them to gain knowledge, but you are implementing one of the methods of Scouting, specifically, Adult Association. Through your association with the youth involved in scouting, you help them become comfortable in meeting and speaking with adults. You also represent a role model and a possible mentor to these youth. Listed below are resources to help you become a merit badge counselor as well as some to help you become a better counselor if you are already registered. Thank you for your time and effort.
