About CAARNet (Care and Ageing in Asia Research Network)

CAARNet is an interdisciplinary platform based at the Centre for Law & Humanities, Jindal Global Law School (O.P. Jindal Global University). Officially inaugurated on September 6, 2025, it focuses on the lived realities of ageing, the political economy of care, and social justice in Asian contexts.

Core Features

• MontAGE (Photo Journal): A visual exploration capturing ordinary, collective moments of care and ageing in daily life.

• ECHOES + EDGES (Blog): An inclusive, interdisciplinary space for students, researchers, and community members to share insights on ageing and care.

• Inaugural Lecture (Sept 6): Dr. Sarah Lamb (Brandeis University) examined ageing as a moral, governmental, and existential experience in India and China.

• Book Talk (Oct 11): Dr. Jason Danely (Oxford Brookes University) discussed older adults, incarceration, and "carceral circuits" in Japan.

• Lecture (Nov 1): Dr. Megha Amrith (Maastricht University) highlighted the emotional, legal, and economic insecurities of ageing migrant domestic workers in Singapore and Hong Kong.
