Training Components
To receive full credit for this 32-hour course, participants must complete the following:
Online Training: 12 hours of interactive Zoom-based training in January or February
Regional Workshop: 16 hours of in-person training and interpretive practice in the field
Local Workshop: 4 hours of facilitating park/district-specific training to other staff, volunteers, or partners tasked with educating the public about state park natural resources (staff are encouraged team up to co-facilitate local workshops)

Below are the virtual and in-person training opportunities. Participants are encouraged to attend the workshop hosted in their nearest region. Completion of the online training series is required prior to participating in a regional workshop.
Changing the Conversation: An Introduction to Effective Climate Change Communication
Wednesday, January 7 from 1-2 p.m.
Virtual statewide webinar open to all participants and strongly encouraged for those planning to enroll in the Natural Resource Interpretation course.
NRI Online Cohorts
Participants will select one online cohort and attend all four sessions (A–D). Completion of all sessions within one cohort is required to attend an in-person regional training.
Session A: Wednesday, January 14 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session B: Thursday, January 15 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session C: Wednesday, January 21 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session D: Thursday, January 22 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session A: Thursday, February 5 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session B: Thursday, February 12 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session C: Thursday, February 19 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session D: Thursday, February 26 from 1:00-4:30pm
In-Person Regional Trainings
Participants are encouraged to attend the workshop hosted in their nearest region. Each training will span 3 days/2 nights and will include both indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
