2026 Training Schedule
Below are the virtual and in-person training opportunities offered in 2026. Participants were encouraged to attend the workshop hosted in their nearest region. Completion of the online training series was required prior to participating in a regional workshop.
Changing the Conversation: An Introduction to Effective Climate Change Communication
Wednesday, January 7 from 1-2 p.m.
Virtual statewide webinar open to all participants and strongly encouraged for those planning to enroll in the Natural Resource Interpretation course.
NRI Online Cohorts
Participants selected one online cohort and attended all four sessions (A–D). Completion of all sessions within one cohort was required to attend an in-person regional training.
Online Cohort 1
Session A: Wednesday, January 14 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session B: Thursday, January 15 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session C: Wednesday, January 21 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session D: Thursday, January 22 from 1:00-4:30pm
Online Cohort 2
Session A: Thursday, February 5 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session B: Thursday, February 12 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session C: Thursday, February 19 from 1:00-4:30pm
Session D: Thursday, February 26 from 1:00-4:30pm
In-Person Regional Workshops
Participants were encouraged to attend the workshop hosted in their nearest region. Each training was 3 days/2 nights and included both indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
Each regional workshop offered:
Science-based content on regional climate impacts and adaptation strategies.
Interpretive tools to effectively communicate climate and natural resource topics.
Collaborative sessions with regional experts, park staff, and partners.
Hands-on activities focused on applying interpretive techniques in the field.
Peer networking to strengthen statewide collaboration and shared learning.
