Since upgrading from VS2017 to VS2019 I have noticed that the text in test detail summary windows is comically large making it hard to read test results without a great deal of scrolling. This persists in the latest 16.3.1 version. I assume (and hope) that there is an option I can use to control the font used there but I haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know what/where the option might be? Here's a screenshot.

I guess you mean the monospaced font used to render the message and stack trace. It appears to be linked to the 'text editor' font. You can customize it (Tools - Options - Environment - Fonts and Colors - Text Editor), but that will also affect the editor windows. You could compensate that by increasing the zoom level of the editor windows. Not sure if that is acceptable for you.

I was told by Squarespace Support that it is not possible to change the font size for Summary Blocks natively within Squarespace. Changing the text in the place of origin wouldn't work for changing the font size either.

I need to make the body / bio font seen in the image block bigger using CSS only for this specific summary block without impacting the global or rest of the sites' style - will someone help me write the necessary CSS lines?

I would like to ask, if there is any command or way how to change the font size in graph summary label. Look at the image. I have a lot of histograms and I need "mean" "number" and "std dev" items to be showed. So I have to open every graph properties and manually change font from 10 to 8, is it possible to do it automatically?

Hi, this is a new one, for me anyway. I'm packaging up a file and the summary shows missing fonts. But when I go to Find Font the missing fonts are not listed in the Find Font dialogue box. I went through the document with a fine tooth comb and can't find them anywhere. This document had been a Save As from some other designer, so the fonts must be in there somewhere. (I checked through all the master pages, not there). But why aren't they showing up in the Find Font dialogue box? Any ideas?

Are there any images within your file which when you click on them with the direct selection tool (white arrow) DO NOT show in the Links Panel? I have seen instances where someone pasted an image into a graphic frame (rather than placing it) putting a color into the swatch panel which could not be deleted. It seems possible that you could have a similar situation here with your fonts. When an image is pasted like I described you can't really get to it to make any adjustments.

I have a new computer with a 4K screen. It is almost impossible to read the lettering in the menus. I have made the adjustments in Windows Display settings. Those settings have no effect on the size of the fonts in ReCap 360.

An Electronic Doc license is based on the number of publications in which the font is used. Each issue counts as a separate publication. Regional or format variations don't count as separate publications.

We'll supply a kit containing webfonts that can be used within digital ads, such as banner ads. This kit may be shared with third parties who are working on your behalf to produce the ad creatives, however you are wholly responsible for it.

Webfonts can be used on a single domain. Agencies responsible for multiple websites, for example web design agencies or hosting providers, may not share a single webfont license across multiple websites.

Every time the webpage using the webfont kit is loaded (i.e, the webfont kit CSS which holds the @font-face rule is called) the counting system counts a single pageview for each webfont within the webfont kit.

You also have the option to configure the font of the alarm text in the Alarm Summary object. By default, the font is 10 point Arial. By clicking the Font button for each alarm, you can select text's typeface and style. To change the font size, use the object's Properties window.

Ideally, an executive summary is no more than two, single spaced pages, using twelve point font. The layout should use ample white space and sections should be accented with bold or underlined text. Like the pitch, there are critical sections that need to be included. These sections, in order of appearance, are:

We have a small debate underway in my day job regarding font. Specifically, which should be our default or standard font for analyses, presentations, etc. This led me to the question: when it comes to font choices, where do best practices end and personal preferences begin?

I'm aware of some relevant research conducted by psychologists Song and Schwarz in 2008 at the University of MI at Ann Arbor, where they showed college students recipes for sushi and asked them to estimate 1) how long the recipe would take them to make and 2) how inclined they were to do so. The only thing that varied between the recipes was the font in which it was written. What they found in a nutshell was that the fussier the font, the more difficult the students judged the recipe and the less likely they were to want to attempt making it. For me, the translation for data visualization broadly is that the more complicated it looks, the less likely your audience is to take time with it.

But back to my specific question: if both fonts are straightforward to read (no legibility issues), how do you choose?

To try to answer this question, I initially planned on doing some research; I quickly grew impatient with this. My brief attempt in Google searches taught me that there is no shortage of font fodder on the internet. There are conflicting lists of the "best" fonts (example). Others have done much more research in this area than I care to (example). I was struck that there don't even seem to be consistent opinions on questions I thought would be easy (e.g. serif vs. sans serif... sans, obviously, right? not according to Wikipedia).

So rather than continue down this slightly frustrating path, I thought I'd pose the problem to you to see if any consensus in the form of the wisdom of crowds emerges. Here are the fonts we're considering:

Specifically, when it comes to the open debate at work: my colleague and I are in agreement that Calibri should not be our default font. I think our reasoning when you boil it down is probably simply because we don't like it vs. anything scientific. Where we differ is on the question of Open Sans vs. Arial. I won't bias you by revealing which I prefer (though my sans serif comment and the text on this blog serve as a pretty big hint).

My questions to you are: If you were weighing in on this decision, what factors would you consider? Which font do you prefer? Why? Leave a comment with your thoughts!

A font size of less than 10 points may be used for mathematical formulas or equations, figures, table or diagram captions and when using a Symbol font to insert Greek letters or special characters. PIs are cautioned, however, that the text must still be readable.

The guidelines specified above establish the minimum type size requirements; however, PIs are advised that readability is of paramount importance and should take precedence in selection of an appropriate font for use in the proposal. Small type size makes it difficult for reviewers to read the proposal; consequently, the use of small type not in compliance with the above guidelines may be grounds for NSF to return the proposal without review. Adherence to type size and line spacing requirements also is necessary to ensure that no proposer will have an unfair advantage, by using smaller type or line spacing to provide more text in the proposal.
