Serena Caplins has extensive expertise in non‑model organism genomics, including de novo genome and transcriptome assembly, genome annotation, genome liftover, variant calling, and population genetics. She is skilled in experimental design for genome‑wide association studies (GWAS), population genetics, and quantitative genetics, as well as in data analysis and visualization using RStudio. Serena is passionate about supporting biologists with their computational needs and bridging the gap between experimental biology and bioinformatics.
Serena earned her PhD in Population Biology from the University of California, Davis. She has applied her skills across a variety of projects in marine and ecological genomics, providing both technical expertise and collaborative insight.
