A CIV is a group of two or more players working in unison to create a living and thriving community. How they build their CIV is up to them (theme, location, etc), but in working together they will be able to upgrade their CIV and earn rewards otherwise difficult or impossible to obtain in Vanilla Minecraft. To help promote team building and working as a community there are certain perks that you can receive by starting or being part of a Civilization.
CIVs were created to help foster healthy and thriving cities all across the server as a way to help achieve our mission statement of creating a community as well as battling Minecraft burnout.
To create a new CIV, two or more players must come together to build a city/nation. These nations are led by one or more Councilmen who are the local leaders of a CIV. The first Councilman is also the Founder of the CIV.
A CIV advances by fulfilling specific requirements and earning Build Points (see section below). As you advance in rank you will earn rewards for your CIV but also Rank Points (see section below) which can be spent to give an individual in your CIV special perks.
Please see CIV Commands to learn how to create or join a CIV.
To rank up you need Build Points. In Eden and its associated nether and end (not the resource worlds), you can submit your builds to be judged for points. If you worked with another person for the build, you can submit it together and get a portion of the points. As you accumulate points, you can increase in rank. Each rank gives you access to individual perks, such as the ability to heal yourself on command.
Builds that are in a centralized location can also contribute to a Civ. Civs, short for Civilizations, can be anything from a town, a dystopian tower, a scaled solar system model, or a fantasy mountain scape. When civs accumulate points, they can also rank up and get perks like weather control, customized portals, or eventually flight within its boundaries.
One of the requirements for civs and players to rank up is to have a certain amount of build points. To earn build points, a players and civ leader (called a councilman) uses in-game commands to submit the build to the build judging committee, who will judge the build based on the following rubric.
As a Civ gains more points it will increase in rank and gain additional points.
Civ Perks are available to any Civ that is at the required rank and meets the requirements of the Perk.
Along side the CIV benefits Players can earn individual rewards.
In Eden, players can earn and choose their own titles. Each title has a unique way of being earned, but once it is earned, it will be available to be chosen at anytime.
In front of your username you will find: A prefix that reflects your personal rank from your build points, and a title from the chart below:
