We arrived at INETE (Instituto de Educação Técnica), where Cristina, our Portuguese partner, was waiting for us. For starters, we talked about the Portuguese school system, and about the history of the school. INETE is a vocational training school which was inaugurated in 1989 and is taking part in various international pedagogical projects. Four years ago, they started to participate in the eTwinning programme and they applied PBL learning system.
25% of the Portuguese school national curriculum is flexible and interdisciplinary, which allows them to take part in 15 Erasmus+ projects. INETE chose the following 5 skills for their students to acquire: creativity, communication, autonomy, problem solving and critical thinking.
The experience has also been very positive for the Portuguese students who have understood the importance of speaking other languages.
During this first day, the dates for the following mobilities and the last evaluation meeting of the project were set. We also specified the details of the upcoming mobility to Sicily.
The project coordinator, Magga from Iceland, informed us that the next income for mobilities would be made the following week. She also told us that the Incoma participants would train the rest of the participants for two days in Bilbao and another two in Turkey.
We also discussed the need to advance in the most important final product of the project: the flipped classroom guideline (on Bookcreator).
Finally, we visited the school facilities, such as the classrooms, the administrative office, the canteen, the library… and learned a lot about the everyday functioning of INETE vocational training school.

Our Italian colleague Mirella, an eTwinning Ambassador, presented us the new eTwinning version on the European Gateway Platform. We discussed whether to set it as a project with students or as a group; we decided to set it as a project, so that our students can go on participating in the activities related to Flipped Classroom.
We talked about the importance of creating two ebooks about flipped classroom: one of them with tutorial lessons on flipped learning practice (before, during and after), and the other one on the general progress of the project. We decided that Mirella, from Italy, would be responsible for the ebooks, as she has experience from previous projects; but we will all collaborate. We also said we need to move things from the eTwinning platform to the new EU platform.
We started creating the ebook about the project progress (on Google Slides). We talked about different apps we can use in order to create animated videos with students: Animaker. The users can record their own voices, create avatars, etc.

We created the rest of the project's social media accounts: Instagram (@breaking.walls2021) and Facebook (Breaking Walls with Flipped Classroom). That way, the dissemination of the LTTs and Meetings will be unified and made easier.
Our Portuguese colleagues shared a Padlet with us with useful information about this progress-check meeting in Lisbon. We decided that that Padlet could be completed and be used as a tool for the development of the project in future mobilities and meetings: https://padlet.com/cbasilio/7qo2x8jbxfigrnaq .
Apart from that, we continued working on the creation of the ebook, and we talked about the structure we should follow.
After that, we filled up an assessment survey and created a collage with project pictures, using the app Piccollage (see Nagore and Cristina’s examples below). Finally, we were given the meeting attendance certificates.
