Venue

University of São Paulo - Butantã Campus

The conference will take place at Auditório Jacy Monteiro (Building B), at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the University of São Paulo, which is located in the Butantã Campus in São Paulo's city, in Brazil. The nearest airports are São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos (GRU) and Congonhas Airport (CGH) for domestic flights.

How to get there, where to eat

From 5 to 9 December, there will be a shuttle leaving the Golden Tower Hotel (in Pinheiros, Rua Deputado Lacerda Franco, 148) every morning at 8am and bringing the participants back to the hotel after the last talk of the day. We kindly ask participants who live in São Paulo to avoid using the shuttle, otherwise there might not be enough space for all participants in the shuttle.

The nearest subway station to the University of São Paulo is the Butantã station, on the yellow line. Near the Butantã subway station there is a bus terminal, the bus lines 8022-10 and 8012-10 travel to the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME).

There are also direct regular buses from Pinheiros to IME and back: line 177H from Rua Cardeal Arcoverde and line 7411 from Avenida Rebouças. Be sure to have small change.

Those arriving at the São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos can easily find a taxi kiosk from the company Guarucoop (https://www.guarucoop.com.br/us/index.php) just outside the arrivals hall. You can give your destination's address and pay a fixed price for the trip, according to its location.

Depending on your country of citizenship, you might be required a visa in order to travel to Brazil. Please check the requirements corresponding to your case. Note that people travelling with a US passport do need a visa.

Health and Coronavirus Information

Weather

In December, temperature in São Paulo can range from 15°C to 35°C, but most probably above 20°C. Rain showers are frequent during this period.

Money

International credit cards are broadly accepted, but we recommend that you have at least some pocket money in the Brazilian currency "real". There are ATMs in Pinheiros and on the campus. However not all of them accept international cards, so it could be interesting to change some currency or use an ATM upon arrival at the airport.

There is no inscription fee.

Conference room

The conference room has a large blackboard, apart from the projector and screen.
