Reminder that although we are run out of Boulder High School, girls from ALL high schools in BVSD (and some nearby districts like St.Vrain and Adams 12) can play on this team because we are the only BVSD team. If we are the closest high school field hockey team to you, you can likely play with us! We have had players from Boulder, Monarch, Broomfield, Fairview, Centaurus, Dawson, Niwot and Erie!

WHAT: Varsity and Junior Varsity field hockey team for Boulder Valley School District, hosted by Boulder High School.
WHO: All incoming 9th-12th grade girls in the Boulder Valley School District (from any high school) are invited to join our team. (If you are out of district, but Boulder High is the closest high school field hockey team to you, you may also join the team. Example: You live in and go to school in Longmont, Erie, Niwot, Westminster, etc. )
No experience necessary to try out! We will teach you how to play. Many athletes start their field hockey years with us. General athleticism and experience with other sports will help. A good attitude is mandatory! Must be able to run 1-2 miles around the track. Field sports involve running!
WHEN: This is a girls fall sport.
The season runs from the beginning of August to the end of October for JV and early November for Varsity.
The season starts with tryouts on Monday, August 10th, 2026.
Practice is Monday-Friday for both Varsity and Junior Varsity. Practices are from 4:45-6:30pm (6:00 on Fridays).
WHERE: New Vista High School in Boulder and Angevine Middle School in Lafayette from 4:45-6:30 pm M-F.
All games will be played at New Vista High School turf.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: *field hockey specific* shin guards, turf shoes/cleats/tennis shoes (turf shoes preferred, but any of those will work), molded mouth guard, field hockey stick ( we have some available to borrow for the season if you are new to the sport.) You CAN NOT practice or play if you are missing a mouthguard or shin guards.
COST: The BVSD Athletic Fee is $225 per student. There is an additional requested "team funds" donation of $25 due after tryouts to help pay for socks, team dinners, the banquet, senior day and ongoing equipment replacement needs. If your family will have trouble paying this we can waive it, just let us know. Fees can be paid here.
Register by noon on August 7th, 2026 here! Athletes will need an updated physical.
FOR EVERYONE!
Never played before? Don’t own a stick? No problem! We will teach you!
HAVE FUN! WORK HARD!
No matter what, we have fun!
We pride ourselves as teammates on being both hardworking and competitive while also kind, compassionate and supportive.
GROW TOGETHER!
Through field hockey we provide the opportunity for girls to become strong, confident, and powerful leaders and teammates.

Colorado Bears Field Hockey Club is also holding winter and spring development clinics and a summer camp in Denver and Boulder. There are other camps around the state as well that you are welcome to attend.

Practices are held on the turf at Angevine Middle School in Lafayette, CO and New Vista High School in Boulder, CO from 4:45-6:30 M-F.
Feel free to carpool from the different high schools! Our parents and students have set up a pretty robust carpool system.
Athletes should bring their stick, shin guards, molded mouth guard, turf shoes and 1-3 filled water bottles to every practice. It is also important that athletes eat nutritious food and drink water throughout the day before practice starts. The start of our season is very hot, and we don't want anyone passing out from dehydration or a lack of eating!
