Head Coach
Coach Mullen played a pivotal role in establishing our program in 2022, becoming its inaugural head coach. She was recognized last year as a top finalist for USA Field Hockey's 2024 National Coach Award for building the program from the ground up, overcoming limited feeder systems, and fostering a culture of resilience, grit and respect among her athletes. In just three short seasons, she led the team to a competitive 8-8-2 record in its inaugural varsity year, and an even more impressive 12-4-1 in it's second varsity year, making it to quarterfinals of the championship bracket.
Allyse grew up in Vermont and was fortunate to start playing field hockey early on in the 3rd grade. She went on to play Division III field hockey at Colby-Sawyer College, in New Hampshire where she was able to get a coaching certificate while getting her B.S. in child development. During her time at Colby-Sawyer she solidified herself as one of the top players in program history with 36 career points on 13 goals and 10 assists, ranking in the top-five in each category. She started and played in all 17 of the Chargers' games her senior year and earned NAC East All-Conference honors.
A little over four years ago she moved to Colorado and is happy to see that field hockey is already starting to grow here. Allyse currently works as a school counselor and plays in adult field hockey leagues in her free time!
She helps bring her background in field hockey, coaching, and mental health to help the team learn important skills on and off the field! She has a passion for field hockey that she hopes all of her athletes one day will have as well and is always excited for our next season!
Assistant Coach (Varsity)
Courtney helped Allyse start this program in 2022 as our program's first ever assistant coach. Courtney Van der Linden is currently a biology teacher at Monarch High School in BVSD. She has 10+ years of experience playing and coaching field hockey. Courtney grew up playing in Connecticut on her high school’s team after switching over from soccer. There she was a top scorer for her team, an All-State Academic Athlete, captain in her junior year and received the Unsung Hero award from her coaches. She then continued playing club for the University of Colorado Boulder for 5 years, where she was lucky to be coached by a former elite D1 UVA athlete. There Courtney was a top scorer, the Events Chair, and received the Coaches' Award in her senior season.
Courtney has a passion for coaching and growing the sport of field hockey in Colorado. She is excited to use her experience and skills from coaching, teaching high school, working at summer camps and participating in all the outdoor sports Colorado has to offer to help the team have fun and learn new skills this season. Team sports played an incredible part in helping Courtney grow and be who she is today, and she hopes to help "pay it forward" to her athletes each day.
