Buzzin’ for Babies is incredibly fortunate to have as its official faculty advisor Dr. Adam J. Decker.  Dr. Decker is a Senior Academic Professional in the School of Biological Sciences at Georgia Tech.  He is also the Director of Anatomical Sciences at the Institute.  He teaches advanced courses in human anatomy and human pathology, among others.  He also serves as the academic advisor for Georgia Tech’s minor in physiology. Dr. Decker holds multiple state and national board certifications.  He is a member of the American Association of Anatomists (AAA), the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS), and the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (AACA). He is also a licensed embalmer in the state of Georgia.  Dr. Decker has won numerous awards for his outstanding teaching ability, including the Georgia Tech Professor of Excellence award and the W. Roane Beard Outstanding Teaching Award. He was also instrumental in working with the Emory University School of Medicine to establish a cadaver-based human anatomy course for Georgia Tech undergraduates, a course that regularly enrolls several hundred students even as an upper-division elective.  Dr. Decker’s enthusiasm for human anatomy is rivaled by his commitment to community service and mentoring Tech students–all of which were important factors in his decision to advise Buzzin’ for Babies.
