Category cable is a wire standard that is used for signal and power distribution. It is often referred to as 'Ethernet' cable, but that is just one of the uses. There are several versions of the standard, so you will see "Cat 5", "Cat 5e", "Cat 6", etc. It is usually terminated with an "8P8C" connector, which is commonly and incorrectly called RJ45.
A video affect which is displayed regardless of any transition event. (see Key).
A very specific style of camera design which uses a swinging mirror as part of its design, but is often used more generically to include mirrorless cameras as well.
A computer networking standard for the transmission of data over Category Cable, often referred to as Ethernet Cable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet .
A common name for cable that can handle Ethernet. The correct name is “Category Cable” of which there are several types, including “Cat 5”, “Cat5e”, and “Cat 6”.
Most of the time the distinction doesn’t really matter, one time it does is when you run into a problem and you ask for help because it can be ambiguous. See “HDMI over Ethernet”.
A crane-like device that enables the smooth movement of a video camera through a 3D-space. This creates a sense of motion and energy. See also "Slider".
Key: See this explanation from Doug Johnston, https://youtu.be/WCcoW47yFh8 . Ballast Media defines keying as “Keying is the process of removing part of a video image, so that you can overlay what’s left over another video image.”
A standardized mean of measure the perceived loudness of an audio signal.
A mechanism developed by Newtek to transport high quality video over data networks.
See wikipedia.
A standard for transmitting electrical power to devices like video cameras so they don’t need power receptacles at the other end. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_over_Ethernet
Refers to a type of camera that has remote control capabilities to move a camera’s perspective side-to-side, up-and-done, in-and-out.
Rosco Gel #80 - a dark blue filter that can be inserted into a lighting fixture.
A Common reference to the connector style used on the ends of Category cable. The technically correct name is “8P8C”, but hardly anybody uses that name. https://www.arrow.com/en/research-and-events/articles/rj45-connectors
A device that moves a video camera along a line while recording which adds a sense of motion to the shot. See also "Jib".
A Key (see key) which happens or is included in the transition.
