Mike Exinger (aka Buxton Manning) is a Writer/Author/Fibber extraordinaire!
In his seventy-odd years (some odder than others), he’s held (and been fired) from a variety of positions in broadcasting, banking, marketing, research, sales, and teaching. He was a Kelly Girl of the month, a professional putter, and once won a writing contest with a huge prize (the check was one of those that they give you when you win the lottery).
He’s been around.
He was a freelance writer of some renown back in the nineties (that was before the Internet, kids). He created several successful gambling guides (still available in paperback and ebook). Now, as Buxton, he pens novels and other weird stories:
Buxton Manning's books are meant for adults. They feature adult themes and naughty words.
Mike Exinger's gambling guides cover many popular casino games like poker, craps, and blackjack.
Both of them live with his wife and enlarged prostate in quiet, rural Oregon.
Here's a picture of me with the largest check I've ever received from writing. Literally!
(It was in 1996, and the sponsor of the contest was a casino. I guess they pay everybody this way.)
Here I am at the Columbia City Library's "Indie Author" event in 2024. I also spoke at the Longview (WA) Library's Author fair later in the year. As a former radio guy, speaking in front of a lot (or a few) people is no problem for me. It can be fun, too!
Here I am, a long, long time ago. With Mom. ❤❤❤❤
