7-Day Intensive Performance Camp From Workshop to Creation and Final Stage
A 7-day residency to go beyond mere technique and create your own new physical language.
The true purpose of this camp is not simply to imitate the forms of Butoh or specific techniques. It is to unearth the "unnamed movements" within yourself, born from the collision of two powerful systems of embodied knowledge: Japan and Indonesia. In the land of Padangpanjang, shed your everyday body and immerse yourself in an intensive 10-day exploration to acquire your own unique expression—a new physical language.
A Butoh performer and choreographer who studied the techniques of Tatsumi Hijikata (the founder of Butoh) directly under his disciple, Yukio Waguri. Her artistic signature is a unique avant-garde Butoh expression that combines aggression and ephemerality—a rare quality among female Butoh artists—embodying an evolution of Butoh that breathes with the times.
