Who Am I?
Who Am I?
I have a diverse background and 21 years of experience in supporting those who experience Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to include those who experience co-occurring mental illness. As well as adult 24-hour residential providers in the I/DD community. I utilize the Oregon Administrative Rules developed by ODDS to ensure consistency and efficacy.

Why I'm doing this work... I love seeing people succeed! I've been doing this work since I was 19 years old. I was missing my brother who passed that year, he had an IDD diagnosis. So, I applied at Assets Inc. I look back at that $11 an hour pay rate that I was receiving and think wow how in the heck did I live on that?! The pay still isn't the best especially with the huge inflation jump we've experienced but seeing people do well and feel truly seen as a human being just fills my heart much better than higher pay ever could.

Respectfully, Consultants are not a part of the ISP Team therefore it is not appropriate for them to act as a team member. BDYDI will not have any contact with county staff, behavior professionals, nor any care providers outside of the I/DD 24-hour residential group home. This is against our code of ethics and does not respect the individuals you serve.
Every single I/DD client who speaks words or does not use words should be in charge of who is on their ISP team. That requires a consultant to be hired on as a staff & background checks to be complete by the 24hour I/DD Group Homeowner. The better term for that role is a manager. 😉
