kaleidoscope (noun, ka-lei-do-scope):
an instrument containing loose bits of colored material (such as glass or plastic) between two flat places and two plane mirrors so placed that changes of position of the bits of material are reflected in an endless variety of patterns
The Burr School Kaleidoscope Bags are intended to strengthen our community’s core value of respect for human differences by providing families with an opportunity to read, learn, and play together.
The bags contain age-appropriate books, games, and other activities that create opportunities for families to explore societal diversity. There is one bag for each grade level, and the materials within each bag differ by grade level.
Kaleidoscope Bags will be available in the Burr School library for students to check out beginning in October. Please encourage your child to take the Kaleidoscope Bag home, explore and enjoy it with them and use it as an opportunity to support family discussions about diversity.
Please be sure to return the bag with all of the contents to the library by the due date (within 2 weeks of check out), so another child can take the bag home.
