Friendly Reminder: For recital, dancers should wear footed tights that go inside their shoes. If a dancer arrives in incorrect or damaged tights, we’ll be happy to provide a new pair and simply add the cost to your account.

Required Leotards: Any costume with a cut out or a top that is separate from the bottom, please wear a nude or black leotard underneath your costume, see below for more details!
Nude Leotards: Clear straps or nude, simple thing spaghetti strap, not seen outside of costume
Black Leotards: Black thing spaghetti strap. Straps must not be seen outside of costume.

How to Care for your Costume
How to Care for your Costume
Costumes are not to be used as dress ups and play clothes before the recital. Once your dancer receives their costume(s) they should be put away, until the recital.
Costumes with tutu's should be stored upside down, so that the tutu will be fluffed and ready to go.
After costumes have been shipped and stored they will most likely have some wrinkles, using a steamer will help to smooth out any set in wrinkles. (Specifics on what costumes will need steamed will be given at the costume meetings) DO NOT IRON!

Come to the recital and dress rehearsal with a cover up on over your costume! Its tradition to keep your costume a surprise until you step out on the stage.
Nude Leotards may be required for some costumes or for any dancer making changes.
Clean, no rips or runs tights.
Clean and with no holes dance shoes.
No UNDERWEAR underneath costume.
If a bra is needed, make sure it is nude/clear straps and nothing is visible outside of costume.

Can I iron my dance costume? NO
This video outlines some ways to rid your costume of wrinkles after shipment and storage. You can also use a steamer or hang your costume in the bathroom during a hot shower.
Hair, Hair, Hair!
All hair will be worn in a high slicked bun for recital. For more information on recital buns see our hair and make up page!
Costume Hair Accessories
When in doubt go right!
Head bands: Make sure head bands are centered on dancers head and secured to the with bobby pins
Scrunchies & Scarfs: Wrap scrunchy/Scarf around bun and secure with bobby pins
Hair Jewel Pins: Place to the right side of the bun.
Hair Bow: Center the bow above the bun and let the ribbon fall on either side
ALL other hair pieces are placed to the right side of the bun and secured with bobby pins.
