Association of Teachers of Myanmar Language
Association of Teachers of Myanmar (ATOM) Language was conceived during the 2017 COTSEAL Conference, titled "Southeast Asia Language Teaching: New Directions," hosted by Cornell University. The group aims to become an online community and resource for instructors engaged in teaching the Myanmar (Burmese) language outside Myanmar (Burma). We’d like to invite Myanmar language tutors, teachers, and lecturers from other accredited institutions to join us.

The name ATOM was chosen in consultation with the late John Okell (1934-2020), a pioneer in Myanmar studies. With this name, we pay tribute to Okell’s monumental contribution to the discipline.
