Earlier meetings have included 2 talks on the burial of King Richard III under a Leicester car park and talks on local archaeological digs.
All talks have been really well attended.
The illustration shows some of the Bronze Age artifacts found on the site of the proposed housing estate off Newmarket Road.

This was the meeting in October 2023 about British Seaside Piers. An interesting and good talk.
The meeting in November 2023 was an excellent talk on "Slavery and Civil Rights".
January 2024's meeting was on the history of Ely Band. It was well presented and most interesting.
The meeting on February 21st 2024 was a most interesting talk about the Rutland mosaics by John Thomas of Leicester University by Zoom.
The last meeting was on the History of Cambridge Museum (was the Folk Museum).
The meeting in April 2024 was about the ferries that crossed the River Cam. An interesting talk. This followed a brief AGM.
The meeting on May 15th 2024 was by Stuart Orme on the History and Archaeology of Peterborough Cathedral. It was a good meeting with a good humoured speaker.
The first meeting in the 2024-25 season (on September 18th) was a talk about the history of Fen Skating by the internationally famous skater David Smith. It was well attended and, as always, interesting.
The talk on October 16th 2024 was by Ellie Seymour entitled "The Royal Station Master's Daughters, Wolferton Station". Although Ellie's books are fiction they are based on facts. It was a most interesting talk.
The November 2024 meeting was a very interesting talk about Almshouses by Sarah Doig who has written several books.
The December 11th 2024 meeting was a very festive occasion with a talk on Music Hall Memories by Bryan Thurlow.
The first meeting in 2025 was by Donna Martin on the History Of Horseracing in Newmarket. It was held on January 15th.
The meeting on February 19th 2025 was on fruit farming in Burwell and Exning. It was really well attended.
The March 2025 meeting was about the airfield and the airfield museum at Bottisham.
The talk on April 16th 2025 was on the Chocolate and three great British Chocolate Dynasties. It was an excellent talk.
The May 2025 talks was about exloring East Anglia with a bus pass. The meeting, the last this season, was well attended.
The first talk of the 2025-26 season was an interesting talk about Fenland folklore. It was very well attended, as all meetings are.
The October 2025 meeting was about Fordham Abbey and the Fordham poet James Withers by John Pryke. It was interesting and informative.
The November 2025 meeting was about the Spinning House by Caroline Biggs.
The December meeting on December 17th is about Borley Rectory.
