Help

Burg Kurg is largely just Survival Minecraft, but it has a few additions to spice up the experience! Here are some tips to thrive on Burg Kurg:

Commands:

General:

  • /back: Use this command to return to your last position after warping, teleporting, going home, or dying.

  • /sethome: Mark an area as your home. When you die, you'll respawn at your first home.

    • Normal players can set 3 homes.

    • Donors can set 7 homes.

  • /home: Go to your home. Use /home <name> if you have more than one home.

  • /tpa: Request to teleport to another player, with /tpa <name> (Remember, all Bedrock players have an asterisk (*) proceeding their Xbox Gamertag!)

    • When someone /tpas to you, you can opt to accept or deny this request using:

    • /tpaccept: Accept it

    • /tpdeny: Deny it.

  • /tpahere: Request to teleport a player to you.

  • /ignore: Ignore an annoying player. Repeat the command to toggle.

  • /itemdb: Look up alternate names for an item (If it won't fit on a shop sign, for example; see below)

  • /spawn: Return to spawn.

  • /seen: See the last time a player was online.

  • /list: See all online players.

  • /warp: Warp to a certain area of the server (such as the Outhouse ("Start, one area outside of the spawn border) and the Shop (Simply "Shop")).

  • /suicide: Die.

Land Claims:

  • /trust: Grant another player full access to your claim, including building, breaking, opening chests, and hurting/using animals.

  • /containertrust: Grant another access to chests and other containers, as well as permission to use objects like buttons and levers, as well as hurt and use your animals.

  • /accesstrust: Allow another player only to use objects such a buttons and levers.

  • /untrust: Remove another player access to your claim.

  • /trapped: Temporarily remove blocks from another user's claim if they trap you inside. (Abusing this will be recognized as griefing.)

  • /setclaimflag: Set a claim flag to modify the behavior of your claim. Available flags are:

    • allowpvp: Allow for player vs. player combat within your claim

    • entermessage <message>: Message to send to a player when they enter your claim.

    • exitmessage <message>: Message to send to a player when they leave your claim.

    • Follow the syntax /setclaimflag <flag> [argument]:

      • /setclaimflag allowpvp

      • /setclaimflag entermessage Welcome to egg land!

      • /setclaimflag exitmessage Cya gamer

  • /unsetclaimflag <flag>: Remove one of the above claim flags.

Economy:

  • /sell: Sell an item.

    • Use /sell hand to sell whatever item you're holding. By default, you'll sell all of that item that's in your inventory.

      • Specify the amount to sell by following the command with the amount to sell:

        • /sell hand 1

  • /bal: View your balance.

  • /pay: Pay another player.

Java-Bedrock Cross-Play:

  • /linkaccount: Link your Java and Bedrock accounts. Run the command from your Java client first, and follow the instructions it gives you.

  • /unlinkaccount: Unlink your Java and Bedrock accounts.

Land Claims:

While we strictly disallow greifing, it doesn't hurt to be careful. Land claims allow you to protect your land from other griefers. See above for commands related to land claims. To set a land claim, you'll need a golden shovel. These can be acquired for free from our Server Shop outside of Spawn (/warp shop).

  1. Select the first corner of the area you'd like to claim by right-clicking or single-tapping with the shovel.

  2. Select the diagonal corner of the area you'd like to claim by right-clicking or single-tapping with the shovel.

When you first join the server, you can claim up to 200 blocks. This should be more than enough to claim your house. Each our you play, you'll earn 150 more blocks. You cap out at 10,000 blocks.

You can also set "claim flags" to enable certain optional features in your claim, including PVP and enter/exit messages. See the above in the list of commands for help setting claim flags.

Creating a shop:

One of the best ways to earn money on the server is to make a shop! Try to pick a strategic location for your shop (near the Spawn Border or the Outhouse, perhaps? [just don't block players in!]). To sell items, you can create a Chest Shop, which will store your stock and hold your profits.

You'll need:

  • A Chest

  • A Sign

  • The items you intend to sell

To create one of these signs, place a sign down anywhere you'd like in front of a chest in your shop, and create a sign with the following format:

<USERNAME>

<QUANTITY_SELLING>

B <BUYING_PRICE>:<REFUND_PRICE> S

ITEM_NAME

For example:

PJBeans

5

B 28:5 S

Cobblestone

If everything goes right, your sign should remain on/near your chest and your item will be up for sale!

This sign basically means:

"The vendor is PJBeans"
"When I buy these, I receive 5 of the item."

"I can buy these 5 items for $28, or sell my own 5 items back for $5."

"The item that is being sold here is Cobblestone"

A few notes:

  1. Java players can leave the first line blank to save time/effort. Sadly, this trick doesn't work on Bedrock.

  2. The Chestshops plugin doesn't currently add Bedrock users to its database automatically; if you're a Bedrock user and cannot create a shop, let the Owner or a Mod know! We'll add you to the database ourselves.

Joining from Bedrock Edition:

To join from a Bedrock Edition client, proceed using the following steps:

Android, iOS, Windows 10:

  1. After tapping or clicking "Play," go to the "Servers" tab.

  2. Scroll to the bottom, and select "Add Server"

  3. Enter the following information:

  • Server Name: Burg Kurg (Can be anything)

  • Server Address: 51.79.76.76

  • 10727

Xbox, PlayStation, Switch:

Due to these console's Terms of Service, Minecraft does not officially support joining external servers on these platforms. However, this restriction can be circumvented by setting a custom DNS.

  1. In your console's settings, set your Primary DNS to 104.238.130.180.

  2. For your Secondary DNS, you can set anything you'd like, such as Google's DNS, 8.8.8.8.

For more information, see the following videos for: Xbox and Switch. There is also a guide for setting a custom DNS on PlayStation (Just make sure to fill in the correct details as shown above.)

After that, the steps are similar to above:

  1. After selecting "Play," go to the "Servers" tab.

  2. Select any server

  3. After the "Server List" menu loads, select "Connect to a Server."

  4. Enter the following information:

  • Server Address: 51.79.76.76

  • Port: 10727

  1. (Optional) Select "Add to server list" to save the server information.

Our Java-Bedrock cross compatibility feature is offered by GeyserMC. The work they've done to pull off this feat is incredible (amazing job guys!). However, understand that not everything works 100%, such as a proper UI for enchanting tables, horses, and looms. More info can be found here.

Console Server support is provided by Pugmatt's Bedrock Connect. Consider donating to him here, as his project benefits many players (even players outside of the Burg Kurg community!) yet is paid out of pocket.
