Bung Podad, also known as the Gurkha Elite Army Platoon Camp Site 1965-1968, is recognized as one of the historical sites worth visiting. The area was named Podad after a type of plant called the Podad Tree that grows around the Bung Podad area. The Bung Podad project is an initiative by the JKKK Kampung Peros in collaboration with the Youth of Kampung Peros to make Bung Podad a recreational and jungle trekking spot for the public.
