Call for papers

The Local Organising Committee would like to cordially invite paper and poster submissions for the 10th BUMA conference Bangkok 2022. The committee has proposed four initial sessions but also encourage the participants to propose new sessions relevant to the main theme "diversity and connection of metallurgy across Asia and beyond" (Theme and Sessions).

Both oral presentation and posters are welcome. The abstracts should be between 200 – 350 words in MS Word (.doc or .docx) (Template). As a first author, you can submit only one abstract and must be registered. The abstract should state briefly the purpose, evidence, methods, results, and short interpretations. This necessary information is to help the selection of the papers for oral or poster presentation. It is also to provide audiences a brief overview of each work. All proposals should be in English. All papers will first be proposed and reviewed by the convernors and committee. The abstracts of all accepted papers will be published in an abstract booklet in digital format which will be distributed to participants.

Each oral presentation (except keynote presentations) will be given 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. All papers selected for the oral presentation will be presented in the auditorium (no parallel sessions).

Posters must be prepared in English in size A0 portrait. A dedicated space for poster will also be given to promote interaction between the researchers.

Please send your abstract to bumaxbkk@gmail.com. Please also kindly state a suitable session for your paper.

Please note that the BUMA X organising committee reserves the right to reject any abstract if it does not meet these criteria.

Notes about Conference Publication

Presenters are encouraged to submit a full paper after the conference. Of those, 10-15 papers will be selected to be published in the special issue of Scopus-based journal "Advances in Archaeomaterials" from The Institute of Cultural Heritage and History of Science & Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB).
