This week in Agriculture...
This week, Assistant Principal Mr. Crepps, brought in two bottle calves for various Animal Science demonstrations. This was a great opportunity for agriculture science students to gain hands-on opportunities. Student visitors were also on campus from Crossroads Elementary who were able to see the calf and ask Animal Science students for specific questions that they had. It was all smiles in agriculture on Tuesday and Friday as students worked with these calves.
On Wednesday, October 2nd, we had our first Chapter FFA Meeting of the school year. Our FFA leadership team hosted the business section of the meeting where they shared updates that can be found in our newsletter linked in this section. We grilled hotdogs and cheeseburgers, socialized, and spent time outside.
Alyson is our chapter sentinel. Since becoming an FFA officer, she has been involved in everything that she can be. Alyson attended KY FFA State Convention, FFA Camp, Farm to Table, and gave an awesome speech about Agriculture Education at the Farm Bureau Outstanding Youth Contest. Avery O’Bryan is an awesome FFA member. Earlier this year, at the KY State Fair, Avery won her division Showmanship Class and competed in the Championship drive. Avery is our Dairy Cattle expert and a great FFA member.
