With Covid-19 pandemic affecting millions of people globally and with healthcare and other frontline workers at risk of getting sick with Covid, Bulig foundation has donated masks to these Frontline workers in Bobon Northern Samar for their protection. The masks were distributed to the police and healthcare workers like doctors, nurses, midwives and social workers who are providing consultations, vaccinations and other services to the community.
In January 10 & 11, 2019 Bulig Foundation delivered medical, surgical and dental services to 1,944 patients in two days. Of those, about 25 were minor surgeries, 110+ dental extraction, 129 abdominal ultrasound and the rest were for medical consult. Bulig Foundation is very grateful to all the doctors and dentists who volunteered and shared their valuable time. Many of the volunteers made a special trip to Bobon just to help in this mission. To the Bobon USA members and the balikbayans who came from different parts of the world like Arizona, California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, the UK and the BOMMRA representatives from Manila thank you very much! Thank you too to the PNA Arizona East Valley chapter, Mydee, Billie , Nancy and Susan for all the help, the partnership and support from the beginning of the mission to the end. And last but not least, a big thank you to the tireless support of our energetic Bobon RHU team lead by Dr. Novales and our dedicated Mayor Reny Jing Celespara for all the support and for hosting the Volunteers Appreciation Night. December 2, 2019 Typhoon Tisoy, a powerful typhoon hit Bobon Northern Samar and its neighboring towns and Barrios. It has left devastation through out the area specially Bobon. Many families have totally or partially lost their homes and with Christmas just around the corner many families needed help put food on the table, fix the roofs over their heads, etc. Thanks to all of our donors and to members of Bobon-USA Association, Bulig Foundation was able to help 110+ households specially those whose homes were totally destroyed.
Medical, Dental and Wellness mission January 2016. With the collaboration and partnership of Bulig Foundation and Bobon RHU team lead by Dr. Novales, we were able to provide services to many residents of Bobon. Many services like free consultation, free vaccination, blood sugar screening and wellness education were provided. We also gave free medicines to the mission participants. Thank you to all the volunteers specially the Bobon RHU team for all the help in providing these services to our fellow Bobonanons. Thank you Dr Myrna Escareal, Dr Sally Medalla and husband Dr Medalla, Dr Tagle, Dr Novales, The Bobon USA Association volunteers and Balikbayans and volunteers from BMMRA (Bobon Metro Manila Residence Association) for your help, donations and participation.
December 14 -15, 2015 Typhoon Nona a strong tropical cyclone struck the Philippines and devastated many homes of Northern Samar. Specially affected are the towns like Bobon its neighboring towns and Barrios! On December 16, 2015 Bulig Foundation raised $1,421 to help victims of typhoon Nona. January 13, 2016 more aid were distributed to the victims typhoon Nona. We distributed roofing materials in Barangay Arellano San Isidro, Quezon and JP Laurel. we also donated Sawalis in Moron-Poron, Somoroy and Magsaysay to about 20+ families. In total we were able to help 65+ families who were victims of Typhoon Nona.
